Resize photo and signature for exam forms

Pick your exam, choose your photo or signature, drag the frame over it and click Resize: you get a JPEG at the exact pixel size and inside the KB range the form asks for. It all happens in this tab, so your photo is never uploaded.

How to resize a photo or signature for an exam form

  1. Pick your exam and upload. Choose, for example, “IBPS & SBI · Photo”. The line below shows the pixel size and KB range it will produce. Not listed? Choose Custom size and type the numbers from your notice.
  2. Choose the image and frame it. Pick a photo or a picture of your signature. A frame in the right shape appears; drag it over your face or signature and drag its corners to resize. Arrow keys nudge it; Shift+arrows resize it.
  3. Resize and download. Click Resize. The tool finds the highest JPEG quality that stays under the maximum KB and checks it is above the minimum. The caption shows the exact pixels and size; click Download, or Edit again to adjust.

Sizes from official notices. “Our size” means the notice gives centimetres or a range, so the tool uses a pixel size that fits it.

Good to know

  • Exact pixels, every time. The crop is scaled to exactly the width and height shown. Only the JPEG quality changes to hit the KB range, so the shape never stretches.
  • Minimum sizes. Some forms reject files that are too small. The tool uses the highest quality that fits under the maximum, which gives the biggest file it can. If that’s still under the minimum, common with signatures, it pads the file with blank bytes that image viewers skip, so the picture doesn’t change.
  • KB counted strictly. The maximum counts 1 KB as 1000 bytes and the minimum as 1024 bytes, so the file passes whichever way the portal counts. The caption shows the exact bytes.
  • Make the paper white turns light grey paper and shadows pure white and leaves the ink alone. It’s a simple brightness rule, not AI, and it’s on by default for signatures. Your photo’s background is left as it is.
  • Crop big enough. If your crop is smaller than the output size, it’s enlarged and may look soft; the caption warns you. Use a clear phone photo taken in daylight.
  • iPhone HEIC photos work. If your browser can’t read them, the tab loads the libheif decoder on first use. Camera details and GPS location are not copied to the result.

Your images stay on your device

Most “photo resizer for exams” sites upload your photo and signature to their servers. Here, the image is decoded, cropped and saved inside this browser tab, using your browser’s own canvas. Your face and signature together are exactly what someone needs to pose as you, so they shouldn’t sit on a stranger’s server.

The page’s security policy tells your browser to block uploads, so your image can’t leave your device even by accident. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab, and resize a photo. How InTheTab works

You’ll also see a few small requests to Google Analytics. That’s our visit counter, and it never receives your files. Privacy policy

Questions

What size should the photo and signature be for IBPS and SBI exams?

IBPS and SBI notifications ask for a JPEG photo of 200 × 230 pixels between 20 and 50 KB, and a JPEG signature of 140 × 60 pixels between 10 and 20 KB, signed in black ink on white paper and not in capital letters. They also ask for a left thumb impression (240 × 240 px, 20–50 KB) and a handwritten declaration (800 × 400 px, 50–100 KB). Pixel sizes are marked “preferred”; the KB range is the hard limit.

What photo and signature size do NEET and JEE Main ask for?

The NTA bulletins for NEET (UG) 2026 and JEE Main 2026 ask for a colour passport-size photo in JPG/JPEG between 10 and 200 KB, with a white background and 80% of the image showing the face including ears, and a signature in JPG/JPEG between 10 and 100 KB. They give no pixel size. NEET also captures a live photo by webcam in the form.

What if my signature is smaller than the minimum KB?

A small image of dark ink on white paper compresses very well, so even at 100% JPEG quality it can stay under a minimum such as 10 KB. The tool first uses the highest quality that fits the maximum. If the file is still too small, it adds blank padding inside the JPEG (a comment section that image viewers skip) until it reaches the minimum. The picture itself is unchanged, and the caption says when this happened.

Is it safe to resize my exam photo and signature online?

On most sites your photo and signature are uploaded to a server. Here they are cropped, resized and saved inside your browser tab, so they never leave your device. The only upload is the one you make to the exam portal.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android or iPhone. It’s free, there’s no sign-up and no watermark is added.
