How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Choose your photos. Click the box above and pick one HEIC file or many. They open in this tab; nothing is sent anywhere.
- Set the quality. 90% is a good default. Lower it for smaller files, raise it to keep more detail.
- Convert and download. Each photo gets its own Download link, with the size before and after. With two or more, Download all saves them one after another.
Good to know
- Works on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can’t open HEIC themselves, so the tab loads the libheif decoder the first time you convert one. Browsers that can already read HEIC use their own decoder instead.
- Photo details are removed. The JPG is drawn fresh from the pixels, so camera details and GPS location from the original are not copied across. Handy before sharing; keep the original if you need them.
- Live Photos become still photos. The HEIC file holds the still image, and that’s what you get as a JPG.
- Download all saves separate files. There’s no ZIP. Your browser may ask once whether to allow several downloads.
- Photos are converted one at a time. That keeps memory use low on phones, so a big batch takes a little while.
Your photos stay on your device
Most online converters upload your photos to their servers. Here, every photo is decoded and saved as a JPG inside this browser tab, using your browser’s own image tools and, where needed, the open-source libheif decoder.
The page’s security policy tells your browser to block uploads, so your photos can’t leave your device even by accident. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab, and convert a photo. How InTheTab works
You’ll also see a few small requests to Google Analytics. That’s our visit counter, and it never receives your files. Privacy policy
Questions
How do I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows?
Open this page in Chrome, Edge or Firefox, pick your HEIC photos and click Convert to JPG. You don’t need to install the HEIF extension from the Microsoft Store or any other software.
Is it safe to convert private photos here?
Yes. The photos are read and converted by your own browser and are never uploaded. We never get your files or text: the site has no accounts, and its only analytics, Google Analytics, counts visits without ever seeing what you add here.
Can I convert many photos at once?
Yes. Select as many as you like; there’s no fixed limit, though very large batches take longer and depend on your device’s memory. Keep the tab open until it says they’re all converted.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android or iPhone. It’s free, there’s no sign-up and no watermark is added.
