InTheTab Images stay on your device

Crop an image without uploading

Drag the frame or its corners to crop, rotate or flip if you need to, then save. Arrow keys nudge the frame; Shift+arrows resize it. Your image stays in this tab.

How to crop an image

  1. Choose an image. Click the box above and pick a photo. It opens in this tab with a crop frame over it.
  2. Set the crop. Pick a shape such as Square 1:1 or Story 9:16, or keep Free. Drag the frame to move it and its corners to resize it. Use the buttons to rotate a quarter turn or flip.
  3. Save and download. Choose PNG, JPEG or WebP and click Crop & save. The caption shows the new size; click Download, or Edit again to adjust.

Good to know

  • Full resolution. The crop is cut from the original pixels, not the smaller preview, and the caption shows its exact width and height.
  • Rotation is in quarter turns. Rotate left and right turn the image 90 degrees; there’s no free-angle straightening.
  • The format starts as your file’s. A JPEG, PNG or WebP is saved in the same format unless you change it; anything else defaults to PNG. JPEG fills transparent areas with white.
  • Keyboard friendly. Focus the frame, then arrow keys move it and Shift+arrows resize it, 1% of the image per press.
  • iPhone HEIC photos work. If your browser can’t read them, the tab loads the libheif decoder on first use. Camera details and GPS location are not copied to the result.

Your images stay on your device

Most online editors upload your photo to their servers. Here, the image is decoded, cropped and saved inside this browser tab, using your browser’s own canvas. That matters when you’re cropping a photo of your passport, a payslip screenshot or a family picture.

The page’s security policy tells your browser to block uploads, so your image can’t leave your device even by accident. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab, and crop an image. How InTheTab works

Questions

How do I crop an image to a square?

Pick your image, set Shape to Square 1:1, drag the frame over the part you want and click Crop & save. The frame stays square while you resize it.

How do I rotate a photo that’s sideways?

Click Rotate left or Rotate right until it’s upright, then click Crop & save. The crop frame resets to fit after each turn.

Does cropping reduce quality?

PNG keeps every pixel exactly. JPEG and WebP are saved at 92% quality, a high setting that keeps detail while usually making the file smaller than PNG.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android or iPhone. It’s free, there’s no sign-up and no watermark is added.
