RRB photo and signature size
From para 14.5.1 of CEN 04/2025 (Section Controller) and the FAQ for CEN 02/2025 (Technicians), published on the RRB websites.

Sources: RRB CEN 04/2025 and the CEN 02/2025 FAQ. Our 700 × 400 px output has the same 7:4 shape as the 35 × 20 mm box and is well above the 140 × 60 minimum. Later railway notices are reported to keep 30–49 KB; check the CEN you are applying under.
Checked against the official notices on by Sandesh Karwa. Rules change between exams and years: if your notice says something different, the notice wins.
How to resize your signature for RRB
- Sign on plain white paper with a black pen, in running (joined) handwriting. Not in block, capital or separate letters.
- Photograph or scan it from straight above in good light.
- Choose the image above. “Railways (RRB) · Signature” is already selected. Drag the frame so the whole signature sits in the middle with a little white around it.
- Click Resize. You get a 700 × 400 px JPG between 30 and 49 KB. A clean signature is often smaller than 30 KB; the tool pads it with bytes image viewers skip, so it passes without changing the picture.
- Download and upload it, then check that the preview shows the full signature.
RRB’s grounds for rejecting a signature
- A non-white background, or ink that isn’t black.
- Block or capital letters instead of running handwriting.
- A blurred, low-resolution, cut-off or blank image.
- A thumb impression or any other image in place of the signature.
RRB can reject on these grounds at any stage, and the signature must match the ones you give at the exam, document verification, medical and appointment.
The live photo
- Wear dark, non-white clothes, so you stand out from the background.
- Camera at eye level, look straight ahead with a neutral expression, whole face inside the frame on screen.
- No cap, mask or glasses, and never a photo of a printed or on-screen photo; that is rejected outright.
- For the exam, bring a colour passport photo not older than two months.
Your photo and signature stay on your device
Your signature is cropped and saved inside this browser tab, using your browser’s own canvas, and never sent to a server. A signature is exactly what someone needs to sign as you. The page’s security policy tells your browser to block uploads, so the files can’t leave your device even by accident. The only requests you’ll see are a few to Google Analytics, our visit counter, which never receives your files. Privacy policy
Questions
What is the RRB signature size in KB and pixels?
A JPG/JPEG between 30 KB and 49 KB, at least 140 pixels wide and 60 pixels high, scanned at 100 DPI or more, according to RRB CEN 04/2025 and the CEN 02/2025 FAQ. It must fit centred in a 35 × 20 mm box.
Do I need to upload a photo for RRB?
No. Recent RRB forms capture a live photograph by webcam or your phone’s front camera while you fill the form. Don’t photograph an existing photo; that application is rejected.
Why does the RRB form say my signature is too small?
The minimum is 30 KB, which is large for a signature on white paper. Resize it here: the tool saves at the highest quality under 49 KB and, if needed, pads the file above 30 KB without changing the picture.
Is IBPS RRB the same as railway RRB?
No. IBPS RRB is the bank exam for Regional Rural Banks, run by IBPS, with a 20–50 KB photo and 10–20 KB signature. Use the IBPS and SBI page for it.
